The beaches of Seminyak are holiday hotspots for the local Balinese and their Javanese neighbours. Hundreds of Indonesian tourists come down with their families, children play in the sand and paddle at the water’s edge and the more adventurous ride some great surfing waves. At the end of the day the wind whips up a biting sand storm that can empty the beach of thousands of visitors in less than an hour.
